The Partially Examined Life Podcast - Chuang Tzu and Taoism
Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 9:55AM The guys at the Partially Examined Life site host a philosophy podcast that is worth checking out if you have an interest in philosophy. Mark, Seth and Wes are former philosophy graduate students who left their studies before getting their doctorates and now in addition to their regular day jobs host an irreverent podcast where they dive into the major works of philosophers - both Eastern and Western.
No cows are sacred with these guys - if you feel the need to hear Socrates referred to as "a major
@sshole", then this is the show for you.
Be warned though, this is not a show to listen to while weaving through traffic on a moped or operating heavy machinery. For the casual listener, the show can be quite intense and for those of us who drift in and out of focus due to a short attention span one can lose the thread of the conversation and need to skip back.
The link today is a show done on Chuang Tzu and Taoism. Though not a "classic" introduction to the thoughts of Taoism, it is a very interesting example of how Western minds grapple with Taoist ideas.
The podcast is available here.
